Chairman's Welcome Message

Welcome to the Royal Navy Association Qatar Branch website.  2024 and our Branch's 10th year is going to be an exciting time for our organisation.  The forthcoming Event Calendar is firming up nicely with the dates for the Cocktail Party, AGM and Trafalgar Night confirmed for March, April and October.  Following the outstanding success of Trafalgar Night 2023, we will be returning again to the Radisson Blu in 2024 hoping to out do ourselves!

Membership is something that all of the Committee focus very hard on and our numbers continue to swell with more than 50 members on the books. That said, we are always looking for new joiners, so if you wish to join, please contact our Secretary by email via the Organogram page or send an email to rnaqatar@gmail.com.

As always, one of our main objectives here in Doha is to support HM Ships company's that come into port from time to time. They spend long periods away from their homes and families and we can boost morale just by simply putting on a BBQ, organising a trip or offering a welcome refreshment.  We have a good social circle which benefits links with local vendors and the British Embassy.

Thank you for visiting our website. Please revisit our site from time to time as we improve it as the Branch grows.

Yours Aye

Daren Leslie

Chairman, RNA Qatar

Royal Naval Association Ethos

The Royal Naval Association Qatar (Doha) was recommissioned in March 2015 following the previous branches closure some years earlier.  We are a bunch of like-minded people comprising ex Royal Navy, Royal Marines, QARNNS, WRN's, RN Reservists and other ex Military personnel including others who just want to support the branch and RNA as a whole.  Should anyone want any further information, or if you wish to join us then please email us via the 'contact us' page

RNA HQ is based in Semaphore Tower, Portsmouth Dockyard, just a broadside away from Admiral Nelson's HMS Victory.  The Association has over 11,000 members across 250 branches in the UK and overseas. Whether we are catching up with friends at our regular social events or advising on welfare matters, our natural willingness to help others stems from the tradition and camaraderie that only Naval Service life can instill. Everything we do is inextricably linked to our core values:

Unity

Shared backgrounds and equality in rank. We share the same bonds, the same mindset, and even the same language (Jackspeak!). We are all equal. We are the heart and soul of the RNA.

Loyalty

To each other and our dependents. We will always support and look out for each other. Our loyalty is to all our shipmates, our local communities, the personnel and dependents of the Naval Service, along with other organisations with Naval connections.

Patriotism

We are proud to serve and proud to represent our country and the Naval Service. Our pride in serving our country never leaves us. Nor do we forget those who have fallen for our country or who fight now. We are deeply honoured to represent them on both a National and International level.

Comradeship

Friends in fun, fellowship and need. Your shipmates will always be here for you, whether it's about a job, ideas for a fun day out or just an arm around the shoulder. We will never leave you or your dependents in despair.
